In the Neighborhood - October 2007
writes, "Support Longmont – Support the Lodger’s Tax

Longmont needs a lodger’s tax to maximize our ability to attract visitors to our community. Why visitors? It’s simple – because visitors will spend money in our community. Every industry, organization and businessperson in Longmont will benefit from new dollars being invested in the community. Visitors will go to arts and cultural places, festivals, restaurants, shops, etc. Sales taxes from their purchases support the community as a whole through a healthier City general fund.

writes, "Colorado Greyhound Adoption

Colorado Greyhound Adoption is in need of loving foster and adoption homes for the ex-racing greyhounds of our community. Right now there is an abundance of greyhounds patiently waiting at the racetrack kennels to begin their new life off the track. In the temporary Foster Program CGA pays for the food and covers any vet expenses, as well as matches a greyhound to fit your family's needs (other pets, children, apartment life). Permanent adoption homes are always needed as well.

writes, "C&C Coins and Collectibles

People do not realize that Colorado is famous for the rare coins the Denver Mint, which opened in 1906, have produced.

The 1914-D penny (which 10 were spent in the fall of 2006 by C&C Coins to celebrate ten years in business and promote the downtown merchants) is worth over $100 each. Four coins are still out in the area.

writes, "What on Earth is Photovoltaic? Photovoltaic (PV) is actually just what it sounds: photo, from photon, which is the unit light particle and in this case, from the sun; voltaic from volt, the unit of electricity (pressure) which drives electrons. So, this is the form of direct current electricity derived from sunlight."

writes, "Relationship building is the key to being successful in any business!

Selling is all about relationships. Top sales people know to strengthen a relationship, they need to go deeper and go beyond the surface level. The stronger you make your relationships, the more you will eliminate any opportunities for your competitors. Are you willing to think outside of the box to help a client or prospect? What can you do today to strengthen and deepen a relationship?

In the Neighborhood-April 2007
writes, "Security is defined as a “Freedom from care, anxiety, and doubt” and “precautions taken against crime, sabotage, escape, or attack”.

In today’s world there can be no perfect “security” for a business, large or small. All of us hope that we have looked at all the loopholes, inspected all the potential problems, and each night we lock up and pray that all goes well until morning. Each new day begins with some small (and sometimes large) business arriving somewhere at their establishment, to find that they have been victimized by another thief that is too lazy to earn their way in life, and has decided to break in and rob the person that has worked hard for what they have.
