writes, "Support Longmont – Support the Lodger’s Tax

Longmont needs a lodger’s tax to maximize our ability to attract visitors to our community. Why visitors? It’s simple – because visitors will spend money in our community. Every industry, organization and businessperson in Longmont will benefit from new dollars being invested in the community. Visitors will go to arts and cultural places, festivals, restaurants, shops, etc. Sales taxes from their purchases support the community as a whole through a healthier City general fund.

Right now there is an abundance of greyhounds patiently waiting at the racetrack kennels to begin their new life off the track. In the temporary Foster Program CGA pays for the food and covers any vet expenses, as well as matches a greyhound to fit your family's needs (other pets, children, apartment life). Permanent adoption homes are always needed as well.

Colorado Tourism Ambassador Program
writes, "The state’s tourism industry benefits every Colorado citizen. Last year, total spending by overnight visitors pumped $8.2 billion into our state’s economy. While domestic travelers rank Colorado as the fifth most desirable destinations in the United States, Colorado ranks 18th in actual visitation. The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) is working hard to close the gap between the “dreamers” and the “doers” with tourism promotion funds that will ultimately help support tourism-related jobs and enhance local and state economies."
